Walnut and black treacle biscuits

Perfect for Halloween!
These are the proper kind of “roll out” biccies that I love. I froze half the dough for another day, so what you see there is half of what this recipe actually makes. I was so happy my mum had kept those cute cutters of the cat, moon and stars from when I was a kid
200g vegan margarine
250g muscavado sugar
1 tablespoon black treacle (molasses)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon salt
200g chopped walnuts
Method:
Cream together margarine and sugar, add treacle and vanilla extract. Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt, beating well. Fold in the walnuts. Roll out the mixture and cut out shapes. Put on a baking tray into an oven at 180 degrees/Gas mark 4 for about 8-10 minutes. Leave to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

Yum yum.. this looks very appetizing. I am definitely going to try this.
Thanks for sharing.
They have been accompanying me to work in my packed lunch all week
